VdS control center: why does alarm handling decide the quality of your security?
The best security technology is of little use if an alarm is not processed reliably. Through a VdS-certified control center every alarm is checked, assessed and correctly escalated, around the clock and even during a power outage.

Why the best technology is worthless without reliable alarm handling.
Sensors, cameras and drones generate alarms. What matters is what happens next. Three weak points prevent an alarm from turning into an effective response.
Technology without alarm handling
Pure recording documents an incident but does not prevent it. Without AI-supported intrusion detection with person and vehicle recognition, the guard at the gatehouse is left alone with dozens of monitors. Nobody watches all cameras at once.
Non-certified control centers
Installers charge well for the installation, but ongoing maintenance is often neglected. Cameras fail due to spiders, dirt or deliberate tampering. Without real-time monitoring nobody notices that a camera has gone blind.
False alarms without verification
Fixed cameras only cover the defined perimeter and do not protect against insiders on the site. From the air they can also be spied on or bypassed. The airspace remains an open flank.
What a VdS-certified control center delivers and how alarm handling works.
What use is the best security technology if alarms are not processed reliably? This question stands at the beginning of every effective security concept. Modern sensors do detect the event, but the real quality is only decided in alarm handling. This is where a professional setup separates itself from a mere technology installation.
A VdS-certified control center stands for an audited quality level. Audited are the qualification level of the staff, the documented alarm handling processes, technical redundancy and emergency power during outages, as well as clear escalation and intervention chains. Each of these points has a tangible reason: anyone who wants to attack a site often deliberately chooses the night, the weekend or a moment of sabotage such as a power outage. A certified emergency and service control center remains capable of acting precisely then.
At Security Airline, alarm handling for the drone is carried out either by trained pilots directly at the customer, for example in the plant fire brigade, or, in most cases, in a VdS-certified control center. Both paths follow audited procedures. The customer decides which variant fits better depending on existing structures and the desired security level.
The procedure is clearly defined. A sensor or the drone triggers. Verification follows: the control center checks the situation via the drone's live image and thermal camera and sees in real time whether it is a real threat or a false alarm, such as an animal or moving vegetation. Verification is followed by assessment and, if necessary, escalation and intervention. Depending on the situation this is done by the customer's own staff on site or by notifying the police.
It is precisely this verification via live image that makes the difference. Pure false alarms are filtered out before any intervention, so no unnecessary costs and no alarm fatigue arise. At the same time a real incident is immediately recognized as such and answered with the appropriate escalation level.
Compatibility with existing systems also matters. Existing sensors can be connected to the control center. Motion detectors, cameras and other detection technology can be connected to the control center and combined with the surveillance drone for verification. This turns individual components into a continuous process from trigger to intervention.
The control center is therefore not an isolated building block but part of a multi-layer security concept. Sensors, drone and control center interlock. Only in interaction does protection emerge that does not fail at a single weak point. Anyone investing in security technology should therefore consider alarm handling from the outset and not treat it as a downstream detail.
You can find more on embedding this in a well-thought-out overall concept on our page on the multi-layer security concept. How requirements derive from legal regulations is covered under KRITIS laws and operator obligations. We show in detail how the control center complements classic property protection and patrol service. The basis of alarm handling is our autonomous surveillance drone, complemented where needed by drone detection to secure the airspace.

How does the VdS-certified control center ensure reliable alarm handling?
An audited emergency and service control center turns an alarm into an effective response. Three characteristics are decisive.
Audited staff and processes
Qualified staff and documented procedures ensure that every alarm is handled to the same high standard, regardless of time of day and shift.
Redundancy and emergency power
Redundant technology and emergency power during outages keep the control center operational, precisely when an attacker counts on an infrastructure failure.
Clear escalation chains
After verification via the drone's live image, a clearly defined escalation follows: intervention by the customer's own staff or notification of the police, without friction.
Security emerges from interaction: sensors, drone and control center.
Only the interaction of the three components results in a multi-layer security concept. Each on its own has gaps; together they form a continuous process from trigger to intervention.

Arrow-401 LR drone and docking station
Purpose-built drone system with redundant communication electronics and a large UPS. You rely on the drone to replace other solutions dependably. Off-the-shelf drones lack this technology.

VdS-certified emergency and service control center
Alarms are handled by trained pilots on the customer side, such as the plant fire brigade, or in a VdS-certified control center. Essential for a high quality level and reliable processes, even during a power outage.

Flight Automation Center with AI
Our own secure flight automation software with intrusion AI. Controls the drone automatically, plans irregular patrols and integrates with existing sensors such as motion detectors.
Why simply buying cameras is not enough.
There are many providers that sell you expensive surveillance cameras and camera masts and then neglect maintenance. You want to focus on your business and not deal with ten pieces of the puzzle made up of hardware, cabling, monitoring and approvals. Security Airline takes care of these pieces for you.
150,000+ surveillance flights
Extensive experience in drone operations across all sites.
Initial consultation with security analysis
Free and without obligation, on site or remote.
Security concept (optional)
Multi-layer concept to raise the security level, including potential insurance savings.
Project planning & EU approval
Flight planning, alarm plan and approval across the entire EU, including Switzerland and Norway.
Redundant communication & UPS
So the drone reliably replaces other solutions, even during a power outage.
Installation of drone system & sensors
Integration with motion detectors, cameras and existing infrastructure.
Regular maintenance
We keep spare parts in stock and secure the availability of your drone surveillance permanently.
Proprietary software "Flight Automation Center"
Secure in-house development with intrusion AI for maximum detection quality.
Autonomous. Weatherproof.
Ready around the clock.
The Arrow-401 LR drone system launches on its own, when an alarm is triggered or at predefined patrol intervals. The system is fully operational at night, in wind or in sub-zero temperatures.
The rugged, VdS-certified drone is charged, protected and monitored in the integrated docking station. It handles climate control, telemetry and maintenance monitoring and thus ensures uninterrupted operation.
The result: less personnel effort, higher deployment frequency and significantly lower operating costs, especially for large, hard-to-see areas without permanent guard staffing.

The LEAG Group not only provides electricity and heat. We offer companies, cities and municipalities a wide range of other products and services.
For several months now, the Lusatian energy supplier Leag has been using several Security Airline surveillance drones in combination with artificial intelligence to monitor its industrial plants more effectively and protect them from theft and unauthorised access.

We offer burglary protection, convenience and automation, fire protection and security, and video surveillance. Everything integrated in one system.
Our sensors harmonize perfectly with Security Airline's drone system. After an alarm has been triggered via the infrared motion detectors, the surveillance drone flies fully automatically to the marked location and illuminates the area.
